This says what Retake Voice keeps, why it keeps it, and how to get rid of it. It is short because there is not much of it.
What is kept
Your email address, so there is something to log in with and somewhere to reach you. A password, stored as a hash, which means we cannot read it and neither can anyone who takes the database.
What you create in the product. That is the product. It is stored in plain form because it has to be read back to you.
- If you pay, the payment provider holds the card and we hold a customer id, a plan name and what each payment was. The card never touches this server.
- If you write to us, the conversation and anything you attach to it.
- Usage counts: which pages are opened and which steps are taken, so we can see what works. Counted without cookies and without a profile of you, and turned off on the cookie page.
- Server logs keep an IP address and a request line for fourteen days, then drop them.
Why
To run the account, to show you your own data, to send you the messages you asked for, and to charge the plan you chose. There is no other use. Nothing here is sold, and nothing here is handed to an advertiser.
Who else sees it
- Polar
- Payments. They see your email and what you bought. They never see what you keep here.
- The mail provider
- Sees your email address and the text of the message we send you.
- Cloudflare
- Carries the traffic to this site, so it sees IP addresses and which pages are requested. Not what you keep here.
- The host
- Runs the machine the database sits on.
That is the whole list. If it ever grows, this page changes before the practice does.
How long
While the account exists. Delete it from Settings and it goes at once, with what belongs to it: what you keep here, your conversations with us and their attachments, and the usage counts tied to the account. Backups are not edited, they are rotated, so a copy can sit in one for up to 9 weeks before the oldest backup is dropped. Nothing is kept as a shadow copy for later.
What stays is the record that a payment happened, without the account on it. Bookkeeping needs it, and the invoice itself is with the payment provider.
What you can ask for
- A copy of everything, as a CSV file, from Settings, without asking anyone.
- Correction of anything wrong.
- Deletion, which is the same button as leaving.
- A complaint to your local data protection authority, if the answer here is not good enough.
